Kaross interview by US Mag www.muenmagazine.net

MUEN: WHAT IS THE LATEST NEWS? WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?

KAROSS: New songs for a album that we hopefully can start recording at the end of the summer

MUEN: EXPLAIN THE SONG "MEAT ME"? WHAT DOES IT MEAN? SHOULDN'T IT BE MEET ME?

KAROSS: Just a name! It's more fun in swedish than in US!

MUEN: HOW MANY MORE ORIGINAL SONGS DO YOU HAVE OTHER THAN WHAT IS UPLOADED AT YOUR MYSPACE PAGE? AND WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND "BONG SONG"?

KAROSS: Well there is the album "Molossus" of 13 tracks (Those 2 included) and on top of that the new material that we are compiling for our next album. About "Bongsong", the inspiration is the pain of losing a good friend, and thoughts about how to ease that pain.

MUEN: HOW LONG HAS THE BAND EXISTED WITH THE CURRENT LINE-UP? AND WAS IT TOUGH ADJUSTING WITH NEWER MEMBERS IN THE BEGINNING?

KAROSS: The current line-up has existed a couple of years, we had a 2nd guitarist (Isaac Ingelsbo) that quit the band. After that we decided to go with 1 guitarist.

MUEN: WHAT OTHER BANDS DID LEAD VOCALIST, MAGNUS SING FOR? AND DOES HE WRITE ALL THE LYRICS TOO?

KAROSS: Magnus has played in other bands, as the rest of the band has also, but don't want to mention.. And no, Magnus doesn't write all the lyrics, there are some adds by Fredrik

MUEN: WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT ARE YOU USING TO GET THE BIG KAROSS SOUND?

KAROSS: 2 boxes and some wood...

MUEN: HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE MUSIC SCENE IN THE SKOVDE, SWEDEN AREA?

KAROSS: Dead.

MUEN: OK TELL US ABOUT THE ALBUM, WHERE WAS IT RECORDED, WHEN WAS IT RECORDED, AND HOW CAN PEOPLE GET IT?

KAROSS: U can get it from www.bengans.se (world wide shipping) if u live in US and from www.cdon.com if u live in Europe. And also at the mp3 store at www.klicktrack.com. US distribution is coming up soon, as well as iTunes. The album was recorded in Jonsered Gothenburg and the vocals was (at least partially) laid on track in Sebastian's bedroom.

MUEN: HAVE YOU GOTTEN ANY RADIO PLAY IN SWEDEN, OR OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD?

KAROSS: Yes in Sweden, but not as much as we want, it's a fierce competition!

MUEN: WHAT OTHER BANDS FROM THE PAST HAVE INSPIRED YOU GUYS WITH THE MUSIC YOU CREATE? DO YOU LIKE ALICE IN CHAINS AT ALL?

KAROSS: That is a trick question! Magnus Knutas: Misfits, Metallica, Rancid, Alice In Chains, Kyuss, QOTSA, Fu Manchu, Pantera, The Living End, Electric Frankenstein, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Audioslave, Soundgarden, Dead Kennedys, Elvis (the king), Eric Clapton, Down, Corrossion of Conformity, Crowbar, Meshugga, Entombed (Great Band)... I can keep on going for ever!

MUEN: IN 2005 YOU WON A RESPECTED MUSIC CONTEST CALLED "PARTILLEROCKEN" IN PARTILLE, SWEDEN, TELL US ABOUT THAT EVENT, AND HOW DID WINNING HELP YOU?

KAROSS: Well we won some recording hours in the studio in Jonsered, and that is when we decided to start recording an album. The event was quite dull, apart from the backstage pingis and the great audience!

MUEN: WHERE DO YOU USUALLY PERFORM LIVE?

KAROSS: Around and in Skövde!

MUEN: TELL US HOW YOU BECAME INVOLVED WITH YOUR LABEL, "EASTGROUND RECORDS," AND HOW ARE THEY DOING FOR YOU?

KAROSS: We sent him a Demo that he reviewed, he must have been impressed because we got 5/5 Frogs. The label is a small Indie label that makes the best of what they got!

MUEN: ARE THERE ANY PLANS ON TOURING OUTSIDE OF SKOVDE ANYTIME SOON?

KAROSS: We have some random gigs in and around Skövde, but nothing more at the moment. If u read this and want to book us, please do pic up the phone!

MUEN: WHAT OTHER GOALS DO YOU HAVE FOR THE FUTURE?

KAROSS: Having alot of fun playing our music, and evolve as a band!

MUEN: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN ON MYSPACE FOR? AND HOW HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE BEEN THUS FAR?

KAROSS: I think about 2 years, and it's a nice place... Although it does tend to get a bit self-centered sometimes

MUEN: ANY LAST WORDS?

KAROSS: Thanx for having this intervju with us, it was fun answering your questions! And we hope to see you on tour somewhere in a near future!
